Tis the Season

Long story short, blogger has been hating on me for awhile. (about 2 weeks that is) I tried posted this earlier, like when it happened but blogger wouldn't let me do any pictures and what is the point of a blog without any pictures? It takes skill to blog without pictures, skill that I don't have. Finally I have pictures of the most wonderful date of the season; going to Temple Square to see the lights! This was also the first outing with the new camera and we had  a blast figuring out all the different settings.

Ryan took this beautiful picture. Temple Square has cut back a bit on the lights, there weren't as many this year but they still looked so amazing!

We love being silly-heads!

This is Dalton and Maggie, they are cool but not as cool as the Shopping-Cart-That-Doubles-as-a-Stroller in the background!

Here is what the original post looked like 3 weeks ago. It let me upload 2 pictures and a small post.

I love my new camera! It makes me laugh how eager I am to post pictures on the blog, if I don't have pictures chances are it won't make it onto the blog.
For some reason blogger is not liking me today and yesterday and the day before yesterday and thus you only get two pictures of our double date to Temple Square with Dalton Haslam and his girlfriend.
It was cold, and lovely and romantic and awesome. I love Temple Square and Christmasy feelings. I don't know why but this year I am so pysched for Christmas. I think it is because I'm a married woman now and thus get to start our own traditions and fun with Christmas. It's a new chapter in our lives and I'm excited to celebrate with the most important man in my life, my husband Ryan!

Cute huh!?

Oh one more thing that happened 2 weeks ago, I got a small case of Shingles. Ryan and I noticed 5 little bug bites on my back, they itched like crazy! All day at school my students would catch me itching my back. After a week I went into the doctor, who proudly declared I had shingles! That was fun.

New Camera!

I got a camera for CHRISTMAS!!!!!!! (a little early I know but I was extra good this year so Santa said I could have it so I can record our first Christmas together)

We have a wonderfully cute little tree! My camera has lots of fun setting to play with.
Ryan has been growing out his mustache for No-Shave-November. He was rather proud of it.
Ryan loved to play with his stache like this all the time, which has become a habit.
What a stud!

Off comes the stache!

Smoother than a baby's bottom!

Look at my new camera. My favorite feature is that it is BRIGHT PINK!

Thanksgiving is not just for TURKEYS!

For Thanksgiving this year the fam all went down to the condo in Beaver. (The condo is still without a name, suggestions would be appreciated.) Jill, Craig and all 4 of their CRAZY girls came over on Thursday for sledding, fun, and food. Here are some pictures in no particular order of all the fantastic fun we had.

On the way to the Sledding Hill, full of smiles!
Kela was so kind to Cleo. Cleo is getting really old, and slow; Kela was so wonderful to always sit by her and give her some love.
The first thing to happen was moving a terribly heavy cabinet up to the loft.
Here is the set up for the big move!
Cleo loved sitting right by the heater on her warm blanket.
Marie sporting the latest trend in snow-pants with only one strap.
After lots of turkey it is required to play the Laughing-Game.
If you give a 9 year old your phone you will get lots of fun pictures to look at.
By lots I mean about 100.
So good! What a crazy!
We love sitting around singing Christmas songs. We waited until after Turkey-Dinner of course.
"I wanna go back to the condo!"
Sledding Fun!
Silly, Happy Times!
On the way to the Sledding Hill!

Lo Siento

I check my blog everyday to see who updated their blog since I last checked. I get so anxious about keeping up with blogs, only to realize I haven't updated mine much.

Blogging without a camera is tough work. I'd actually have to write something, thus I don't do it.
Lets start way back when....October-ish

The first real event that happened in October was Ryan was asked to break a Social-Norm for one of his psych classes. He chose to do an extreme. Him and a mission companion David Beaty dressed up as Darth Maul (Ryan) and Han Solo (David). They then proceeded to have an epic battle around campus. Stopping only for the National Anthem that is played across campus. It was epic. Marie came and watched and Ryan had a couple young fans ask to get a picture with him. Who knew homework could be so fun?

For Halloween the third grade teachers at Bennion Elementary all decided to dress up as Angry Birds. It was so much fun! I wish we had a picture of all of us together. I was the King Pig, Sarah, the Yellow Bird, and Brooke, the Red Bird. I made my own costume and was very proud of my work. All the kids at school loved it!

Ryan and I carved our first pumpkin EVER! I was highly impressed with Ryan's carving skills. (even if most of the credit goes to Cutco)

Here is our pumpkin. I love his toothy grin! He looks scary enough but not too scary. I love Halloween!
Ryan took a few tests. He is still in school (for only the next 7 years). I found an Iphone App that lets me check in on my dear husband at the BYU Testing Center. Since I can't leave him cute notes and treats at the bottom of the exit stairs I elected to stalk him via technology.

We are now in the month of November!

My Dad recently bought a condo down in Beaver, next to a wonderful ski resort. Ryan, Dad and I drove down last weekend to move some furniture and get it settled a bit more before Thanksgiving. On the road trip I saw this lovely Penguin hat....who could refuse a picture of a Penguin hat?

Ryan just slept. Ahhhh, isn't he the cutest?

Here we are in the lovely condo bathroom, getting ready for bed. Please comment on my wonderful usage of my wedding onesie! It kept me warm all night, BEST IDEA EVER!!!!!!!!
A couple years ago my wonderful Cousin Kela sent me some HolidaySpecs in the mail. These have become my favorite holiday accessory. I couldn't wait any longer. I pulled them out and we cruised down the road, listening to Christmas Music and counting all the "Santa's" we could see. *Disclaimer don't wear the HolidaySpecs while driving the actual car*

Another thing that I've been working on these last couple months are my crafty-ness. I did after all make my own Halloween Costume. Here are some other things I tried my hand at.

I made a table skirt and bucket seats for my guided reading table at school. Now these both several ulterior motives besides just fancing up my work space. They also hide all my clutter and store all my junk. Cute and functional!!!

I also have tried my hand at scrapbooking. I feel a bit silly about this one. My Mom never scrapbooked although she loved pictures. She'd just stick them in binders to look at. She always said that she never had the talent or the time for fancy scrapbook pages. The Woodbury women are huge, I mean HUGE scrapbookers. They both have their own space in their houses designated to scrapbooks. I tried scrapbooking to fit in with them but now I'm finding I am spending as much time and money as they are and I am truly enjoying it. I never thought I'd be a scrapbooker but look at me now!

This last picture is of me in authentic Indian Garb. I wish I could write about how I got a free trip to India to see all the sights and enjoy the culture but that would be a lie. My father-in-law went to India on business and was kind enough to bring me back a beautiful doll and some other fun souvenirs. We are so glad he got to go on such a wonderfully crazy business trip and are glad he is home safe with us.

For Thanksgiving Jill, Craig and their girls along with Dad, Marie and us are headed down to the condo for dinner and sledding. I am planning on cooking the majority of the meal....wish me luck! I'll report on the ordeal soon.

UEA!!!!!!

For UEA we went to Tuacahn in St. George to see Disney's Little Mermaid.

A few fun things have happened lately.

#1 I got my first ever flu shot. It was quite fun. The school nurse stabbed me and then pretended to know where to put the bandaid. It made me laugh.

And #2 I finally faced my fears and took a picture by Miss Ursala herself.

#3 on the way home Ryan and I took a short detour to Jacob Lake/Grand Canyon. I worked at JL for a couple months one summer. It's a grand place on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

We climbed up the dreaded FireTower. I hate heights but it is such a grand view I just had to so my dear Husband could see the amazing Kaibab Forest.

We also kissed a few times.

UEA is pretty much the best invention ever. By this time in the year teacher's are getting stressed out. The end of the term is a few weeks away, the holidays are coming fast and we just need a few days to charge up for the next coming months. I love UEA. Thank you Utah.

Overdue

Since our camera broke I haven't been very motivated to update the blog. A blog without pictures is.....SAD.
Luckily we have Iphones that have decent cameras so I have been taking pictures and am ready to update our blog now.
The pictures are kinda out of order but you'll get an insiders look at our past month-ish of activities.

Exhibit A: Ryan took me to the driving range where he taught me how to 'golf.' This past month Ryan has been a huge golfer. Him and his dad go just about every Saturday. And sources tell me he's pretty good.

Exhibit B: We went on a date with Stu and Emilee to Cabelas since the corn maze was closed due to rain.

Ryan's new favorite App is the Brostauche. He uses it all the time.

Exhibit C: We went to the BYU vs. San Jose State football game. It was so cold!
Grandpa came too, and he bought everyone Hot Chocolate.
Exhibit D: We took Sophie to the park near our house and went down slides while Tyler and Melissa were in a meeting. It was super fun. Soph loved the slides.
I learned that when you are drunk you put lampshades on your head. I tried it out (not the drunk part).
This is my favorite item I have taken from a student in all my career. One of my students we'll call him Arnold was playing with Baseball cards all day. I got after him, telling him the next time I saw him playing with the cards they would be mine. Well as I was teaching I noticed him playing in his desk and the kids on his table watching him instead of learning valuable information. So I walked over to him and told him politely to give me the distraction. Expecting baseball cards you can imagine my surprise when instead I get an alligator head in my hand. I totally busted a gut right there in front of Arnold. I could not believe that a kid would bring an alligator head to school and keep it in his desk. Oh the joys of teaching 3rd grade!

Well that is my update. I will try my best to do better.

Dia de Labor

Ahhhh Labor Day the day we say "So Long" to summer and "Hallelujah!" to fall. ;)

This day was wonderful for us, we did everything! We started off with a wonderful lazy morning. Ryan made me breakfast of fried eggs which I haven't had in forever, so that was wonderful.
Then we decided to be productive. Ryan did homework while I did 'research' online for upcoming craft ideas. I am currently making a Halloween Yarn Wreath and will then move on to a small quilt. Remind me and I'll post pictures.
Next we headed over to the Woodbury residence for a late lunch of steaks. While we were there we played Catch Phrase and Rummy (a card game that is tradition with a capital T). After Miss Sophie had a nap and dinner we stuck her in the whale pool. It was so fun to watch her splash herself. She was so cute, her tongue was out and she just laughed and laughed.
After that fun event Ryan and I headed up to Grandma Davidson's for a family BBQ. I have an amazing family and a wonderful cousin named Jace. He is 15 but I often forget his age he is just so cool. Ryan and I enjoyed some well cooked hamburgers then we just chilled with the Jacemiester. We planned an upcoming Cousin Day to the Drive-In Theater up the street and then headed home.
Weekends always seem to go too fast, especially when we get an extra day of fun. O-well bring on the school days!
