UP-date!

(please sing that post title...I did)

There aren't many photos to share with this post but I thought it's time for a quick update before we move on to bigger and busier things this summer.

1. My husband learned how to be a boating man. He learned to back up the boat, drive it, drive with someone behind the boat (me skiing...which was a fun experience), and park it. I am amazed!

 Look at this stud!

I like to ski. When my husband drives me for the first time it becomes especially fun. I think Ryan got down to 14mph! What a fun memory.

2. Another fun thing that has happened recently was lots of time to hang out with cousins. Here is my cousin Kade holding a very sad kitty. Kade spent the whole afternoon stalking this poor kitten all over the yard. When he would finally catch it and hold it his face would turn bright red from the effort to hold the small beast. You can't really see the cat's face over in the corner of the frame, it had decided to try to play dead.

3. Look at my husband all tuckered out after early church. I love the fact that he was dead asleep in this position not more then 5 minutes from getting home from church.
 4. I've been getting my craft on this last month. My dear Father-in-law was excited to model my lovely headband.
Another fun craft I made for my classroom. I'm excited for it! It's already August, I can't believe my new little tykes will be walking into my classroom in about 25 days! AHHH!

This summer is quickly coming to an end. Our ward at Wymount is changing weekly, with people moving in and families moving out. It makes me excited about moving next summer, yet sometimes I get sad about it. Everyone loves to ask us where we are going for Grad School, the answer is we don't know yet. Ryan will be applying this fall and by January, February we'll know where we'll be headed.
The top choices right now are: Notre Dame, Clarks University (Mass.), Tufts University (Mass.) and two schools in Canada who's names escape me.

Ryan's last day at Vivant is next Saturday and then we are off to Lake Powell for the big Davidson Vacation! We are excited to get one more wonderful vacation in this summer.
Ryan is amazing eh? I love him!

U. S. of A!!!

I had just gotten back from Jackson Hole on Sunday and then we were packing up our apartment and trying to catch up from all our vacation days; so our Fourth of July was very laid back.

Ryan worked from 12-8pm (getting paid time and a half!) so I stayed home and packed and studied for my school work. After work we buzzed up to South Jordan to celebrate with the Woodbury family. Clayne is kinda a firework-fanatic (I think Ryan is too) so we had plenty of ammunition.
We all went to Tyler and Melissa's house to light the night sky!
The boys with their toys! ( please note Ryan's patriotic shirt)
Sophie had lots of fun playing around.
 This was Ryan's Firework-Face!
What a good uncle protecting Sophie's ears during the show.

DWorld part dos!

This will be a picture OVERLOAD!!! I thought about splitting it up into 3 posts but then decided against it. I have other things that need to be blogged and I kinda wanna just get DisneyWorld blogs over with.  Here we go....
We were there over the famous tropical storm Debbie.

We got very good and whipping on our rain slickers at a moments notice.
There was an amazing aquarium in Epcot that had dolphins, turtles, manatees, and tons of other fish.

Ryan was so excited to see Captain Eo! It was so amazing. Last time I watched it I took of my 3D glasses for most of the movie(it was pretty scary for a 9 year old). I was proud that I kept them on the whole time.
Playing around in the countries at Epcot.

Some French street performers.

We watched some fire explosions at Hollywood Studios.
5 points to whoever can name the movie this prop is from.

Ryan had a lot of fun playing around with this Tower of Terror worker.
You can't see it but the Hollywood Studio hat is behind us.
This is the golf course Ryan and Clayne played the last day of the trip. It was pouring on them.

Goofy liked me best!
 We saw Fiesta Donald!
Funny story, Ryan and I love Duffy the Disney Bear. On our honeymoon we were walking past the Duffy stand and no one was there and everyone looked super sad so we went over and a Duffy hug and a Duffy sticker. We then went on our merry way to the Screamin' California Roller Coaster on the way we saw Jessie and the Green Army man from Toy Story. The Army man was hilarious. In a very military voice he said "I see that you just got married." (we had 'just married' pins) and "I see that you just hugged Duffy" We died laughing and now its a cute inside joke between us.

For lunch one day we went to this nifty fifty's diner.
This was the most amazing intense roller coaster I have ever been on. It was Aerosmith themed with their music blasting in your ears while you went on a crazy fast ride through pitch black "streets" SO FUN!
This was the typical Disney look on this trip...soaked! I did manage to hang out with my good friend the Pink Power Ranger.

I am so thankful to my in-laws who made this whole trip possible. It was so fun for me to get to know them better. Ryan and I have been married for about 18 months now and I know the Woodbury's pretty well but going to a new place was so much fun with them. They are truly amazing people and I can't wait for the next time we get to play with them.

D-to the WORLD! Part 1

Hey y'all we be in Florida right now! In Disney World to be exact.
Ryan's amazingly generous parents decided to treat us to Disney World since they took the family while Ryan was on his mission. We said that would be ok by us! ;)

We flew in Monday night at midnight (Florida time) and got settled in the condo and went to bed dreaming of Mickey, Minnie and friends.

Tuesday we woke up early and hit the ground running at Animal Kingdom. The first ride of the day was Expedition Everest. This was the ride I was looking forward to most. The first run through was amazing and full of screams and laughs. Then we made a disastrous  plot move. We decided to jump right back in line with our Fast Pass and do it again. This time around Ryan didn't leave happy. He was dehydrated and it lead to motion sickness. He spent the rest of the morning in the First Aid room sleeping. After a nap and eating some foods he felt much better and we headed over to Epcot to finish the day off walking around the countries.

Us in front of Expedition Everest (before riding the ride)
I saw an alligator! How fun is that?

Epcot was so much fun. We walked around most of the countries and just played in the shops and laughed.
Don't you just love Ryan's sun sensitive eyes?
I got some Mickey Ears in Epcot!
 Playing around in Mexico!

Wednesday we went to the Magic Kingdom to play. Unfortunately Ryan got motion sickness in the car on the way to the park. I took him to the First Aid where the nurse gave him a pill and a bed to sleep on. Ryan took another nap then ate some food and was ready to go. It rained most of the day so we didn't take any pictures except 3. We rode Splash Mountain several times, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, Small World, Stitch's Great Escape, The Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor and tons more rides.

I was so happy that Ryan was feeling better and could play around with us instead of sitting in First Aid. Disney World just isn't as fun with a sick husband. We realized that like clock work Ryan usually feels better after 2:00.

(Don't mind the scary girl wearing the Mickey Ears in  this picture) This one is for Marie who is a canoe guide in Jackson Hole pretending to be Pocahontas.

Pictures Pictures and more Pictures

Remember how for awhile my camera was lost. Well it is now found and thus I will overload this post with pictures of the past few vacations.
My Pops and I went down to Moab for the Easter Jeep Safari. While we were there my dad had lots of fun with his Christmas present.

It was just the two of us, like old times. We both left our sweethearts at home and so we were eager to get back.
My cousin Austin got married down in Arizona. This is Elder Heywood, he is currently in Brazil but was the hit of the wedding.
At the wedding Lindsay, the bride, made sure all her guests got milk and sweets!
Marie, Ryan and I spent some time outside during the reception. It took Marie awhile to gain the courage to walk across this shaky bridge.
I taught Ryan how to burn cotton.
He was a natural.
Marie's lacrosse team went to Nationals in Colorado. She was named All Tournament Defensive Player (a HUGE honor) and was given that nice bruise and also a new lacrosse shaft.
The Woodburys all went to St. George this last weekend for some R and R. We went and saw Aladdin at Tuacahn. It was amazing. During the Cave of Wonders section it was 3D! Tuacahn always goes above and beyond with their wonderfullness.
Our niece Sophie enjoyed the 3D glasses as well. ;)

And the biggest thing that has happened in the last few months was my Dad got himself a bride! He and Darla were married June 2nd at my Grandparents Davidson's house.
 I now have 2 stepbrothers(Jared and Dallen, & Jared's Girlfriend) and a stepmother.
Grandparents Heywood came all the way from Gilbert to show their love and support. It was so good to see them!

My family. I am so excited to have Darla in the family officially now. She is so kind and wonderful to be around. I love how she makes my dad so happy. Thank you Darla!
