New Years Eve Miracle
So my dad called me earlier today and told me that his and Darla's flights got canceled. Apparently there is a huge snowstorm coming through tonight and tomorrow so they canceled all flights in the area. My dad got a reimbursement and we just sat around mopping. Sad that we wouldn't get to see them for a year. (August to August)
Then we found some cheap flights to Utah. Thus our little family is going to Utah Thursday...thats in 2 days! We've been running around like crazy getting everything put together. I am so excited!!!

Lincoln's First Christmas
Christmas with a baby is so fun! We spent most of the day on skype with different families. We got to see Clayne, Melanie and Mark open up their gifts. Then we skyped with Dad & Darla at Grandma Ann's house. It was fun to see everyone. After that I skyped with the Hansen family while Ryan skyped with his family again. We ended the day skyping with the whole Davidson Clan. The best skype call ( no offense to anyone else) was with Sister Marie Davidson who is serving a LDS Mission in the Philippines. This was her first time seeing Linc. It was so wonderful.
Now for the pictures.
Our cute little tree. Notice that Linc had already gotten into his gift. He kicked it open in a few places.
The first gift of the day was a pack of socks.
Next was a total surprise. I thought long and hard about this gift. It was a splurge but it was well worth it. I'm pretty sure Ryan has already got his money's worth out of it.
Thats right it's an Ipad Mini. Ryan never saw it coming!
Linc's favorite gifts had to be the wrapping paper. He has a handful of it in every picture.
Scent IQ...thank goodness for that eh?
Lincoln made out like a bandit.
He loved the wrapping paper. I had to keep a sharp eye so he didn't eat any.
Ok maybe his favorite gift was this set of Oballs. He loves holding his Oball and won't let go.
Before Marie called us we had dinner with our neighbors, the Tuckers. I love our little community. We all adopt each other so no one is every without family here. It's amazing!
The first half of Marie's call was just voice since her web cam wasn't working. I was very content with just hearing her voice but when she finally got her camera working it was glorious!
Marie is still Marie. Always pulling faces.
Linc loved seeing her. I can't wait for next summer when she gets home and gets to throw Linc around.
Our Christmas was very low key and wonderful!
We are looking forward to spending some time with Dad and Darla later this week. They fly in tomorrow and will spend the weekend with us. I miss them so much.

I Heard the Bells On Christmas Day
This week has flown by.
Monday Ryan had an in class final. Afterward they had a pizza party and Linc and I were invited. It was fun to show off the little man. Several of the girls are baby hungry and loved holding him. I loved getting to know some of the students Ryan will be working with for the next 5 years.
Tuesday was my birthday. I turned 26...not 27 as my dear dad thought. We went and saw Frozen at the earliest show time since Linc came too. Linc did great. He watched for a little bit, ate and then fell asleep. After the movie Ryan had to leave to study. He went to the community center's study room so he was close by but isolated. After dinner he went to study some more. Well he actually lied and went to the mall and got me some beautiful earrings. I told him not to get me anything since he bought me an expensive diaper bag earlier when it was on sale. I was excited about the earrings though. I love surprises. My aunt Deanna sent me a cookie bouquet and I got several cards in the mail. Darla sent me an amazing blanket. I'm not a huge blanket person mostly because they just sit around the house but this one is amazing. It is so soft. I love it. I also got to skype with my cousin Kela who shares my birthday. It was fun to see and talk to her. I can't believe how mature she sounded. I love sharing my day with her, she is one of the nicest and silly-est girls I know.
Wednesday Ryan worked hard on finals.
Thursday Ryan finished up his finals.
Friday I worked all day long. I volunteered to take another girl's shift since she had to deal with some personal issues. It was good to get the hours but hard to be away from Linc all day.
Saturday we went to the ND bookstore for story time. This week Father Jenkins, the President of ND, read a story about Jesus that was adorable.
After story-time we got to met Santa. He was a wonderfully jolly man and the pictures were only a $5 donation to a great charity so I felt more then willing to pay it. Lincoln did great with Santa. He was mostly confused as to why we were all staring at him. He hasn't entered the clingy stage yet so we're grateful.

I can't believe that Christmas is almost here. Its weird to not have any major plans. We're just excited to stay home and be together. Also the skype call to Marie sounds like a fun idea ;)
Hopefully during this break we can get some fun family time in. I'm excited to show Dad and Darla around. I am so grateful I haven't been homesick, I am very prone to it. I guess its because where ever Ryan is is home to me now. But I still miss my family a ton. I am so grateful that they make time every week to video chat with us and that they are going to brave the weather to come visit.
I will be posting Linc's 5 month post tomorrow or Tuesday after we get his weight taken. I can't believe how big he is. In Marie's weekly email I posted the following pictures as a comparison.
Linc at 1 month.

Lincoln @ 4 Months
Time is flying by. I can't believe he is already 4 months old. When we were at Disneyland he was a week away from being 4 months so when people would ask Ryan was quick to tell them 4 months. I was quick to correct him. Don't make him grow up any faster then he has to. I remember my Grandma Davidson telling me that her house was Neverland and kids weren't allowed to grow up there..I want my house to be Neverland. Since I can't stop it I might as well enjoy every minute of it.
This month's highlights are:
-thumb sucking
-reaching and grabbing
-starting to roll back to tummy
-rolling tummy to back
-laughing
-holding his head up much better
-almost discovered his toes
-taking better naps
He is becoming more and more like Ryan. When he is tired or hungry he gets very cranky. But as soon as his tummy is full and he's had a good sleep he's all smiles.
Lincoln had his 4 month well visit at the doctors. She told us we could start trying solid food with him. Ryan and I feel like its too soon, Linc has only been nursing for 2 months but we'll see. Linc also had to get shots. This time he was more aware and so it was harder to see. His little face was so happy one minute then the next he looked so hurt and confused and sad. The first round of shots I didn't have a baby smiling at me seconds before. Life is tough sometimes.

Go Irish!
Today was the big day! The BYU Notre Dame football game. Ryan has been looking forward to this since he decided to attend Notre Dame...a small part of me believes this game might have been the reason for his decision. His mentor professor, Dan, gave us his faculty tickets and Ryan's parents bought their own. It was so...COLD!!! and fun.
Notre Dame starts with a ton of on campus events. We decided to take Lincoln out for the start of the day before dropping him off with the neighbors for the actual game. Lucky for me I work at a great children's store so Lincoln got this great snow suit.
Us at the player's walk.
Our seats were amazing! Right next to the BYU section so it was fun to watch Cosmo and his crazy tricks....as well as the game.
During half time we got to walk on the field for pictures. It was FREEZING!
It was so fun to go on this great date with Ryan. It was our first date since Linc joined our family. We did have sibling night at Disneyland but this time we were by ourselves. (Clayne and Melanie were in a different section of the stadium)

In Lincoln news:
Little Man has found his thumb. I love this but will probably eat my words in a couple years.
I love that he can sooth himself to sleep rather then having a binkie. I have a love hate relationship with the bink. It helps him sleep but he doesn't hold it in very well and now that he is getting more hand-eye coordination his hands are the binkie's worst enemy. They constantly pull it out and then he is mad. I hate having to keep popping the binkie in every 20 seconds. A thumb won't pop out.

Roly Poly!
This happened today. Luckily I had my camera ready.
Tummy time is getting better.
Yup he rolled over. He did this yesterday but it was more of a surprise. He has also rolled from back to tummy once.
On Sunday Linc found his thumb. He's been playing with his fingers in his mouth for about a month now but never really got the sucking down.
Now he is sucking his thumb and reaching for toys. Its fun to see him interact with them rather then just stare at them.
Yesterday after spending 2 hours fighting this cranky boy for a nap we both needed a break so I turned on VeggieTales and he loved it.
This week I've really been missing my Mom. Ryan and I have been discussing how to get Lincoln to sleep. We've been letting him work it out himself by crying. Lincoln has really been fighting his naps and it is rough on everyone. I wish I could just call up my Mom to get her opinion and just hear her encouragement.
Last night my Aunt Jill Hansen posted this picture on instagram. My cousin Kela loved my mom something else. I love how she still talks(or draws) about it. It makes me feel like someone else out there is missing her like I am. Thanks Kela! You really made my day a whole lot better last night. You were the answer to my prayers. I'm glad the Lord sent me a cousin as amazing as you.
Another quick update: I finally got around to decorating his room.
My Aunt Jill Heywood sent me a surprise in the mail yesterday. She makes amazing quilts and I love the one she made us. I considered changing his room theme to red and yellow so I could display this art piece. But decided to put it up anyways. I love it!
Ryan and Linc were hiding while I was taking pictures.
Little man doesn't look too impressed with his new room. Owell.
